YEAR-END AMBIVALANCE ….
Trading levels --- 29th DECEMBER 2014 / 2nd JANUARY 2015
Last week’s pull back continued on Monday and till Tuesday morning. After that profit-booking did set in ahead of X’mas holiday. Last trading day was like a transport sector on LONDON _ SYDNEY rally although some volatility was seen mid-day. LIC continued to support the market in the absence of FIIs.
Overall – DIIs ( read LIC ) has been heavy buyers in the market for last 10/12 days. MODI government is also using LIC to support the market since they have heavy divestment of PSU’s ahead.
Next week also - I expect very lackluster trading as most FIIs are closed. Many of the bull operators also will prefer to enjoy the bumper profits made by them by splurging over the year end festivities.
Many stocks have moved southwards from their Monday / Tuesday high levels. Keep watching closely since u may get an opportunity to buy some of them closer to to last 10/12 days low. …. I think that will be a very good entry level for medium term.
Last two week’s fall has made marketmen aware about the impending risks to one way bull run so far. THIS REALISATION WAS BADLY NEEDED AS MARKETMEN WERE TRYING TO PUSH CERTAN STOCKS TO ABNORMAL LEVELS.
BRENT crude has slipped below 60 dollars and indications are that within next 6 / 8 weeks it may go to 50 dollars or even lower. If that level is held for 4 to 6 months, we may have lot of economic trouble for countries which are dependent on CRUDE OIL exports. Some of them may even default on their international commitments which will cause a bout of all round panic in financial world – of much bigger proportion than even LEHMAN crisis. I EXPECT GOLD TO MOVE UP SIGNIFICANTLY FOR ABOVE REASONS.
WE DID FILL THE GAPS I MENTIONEDLAST WEEK. THE REMAINING GAPS WILL TAKE PROBABLY 3 TO 4 WEEKS MORE TO FILL UP – PROBABLY AFTER SOME REALSISATION OF THE ACTUAL MACRO PICTURE.
As I always say, we have to play percentages to make money. Bold bravado or blind consensus following does not help. I HAVE JUST GIVEN YOU SOME FOOD FOR YOUR GREY CELLS. WHAT DO YOU SAY ? ? ?
