MY WEEKLY TAKE .....
BULLS HOLD THE UPPERHAND IN THE PENULTIMATE WEEK TO BUDGET . . .
Trading levels --- 23rd / 28th FEBRUARY 2015
Bulls continued to consolidate their position in 8800 / 8900 NIFTY range. It seems they were also not very keen to push the bar higher as to hold the index closer to 9000 has turned out to be difficult.
IT sector and ITC were a pillar of strength while BANKING was not a drag. Same pattern of last 3 weeks continued where the FIIs were not major players and the local HNIs / Operators continued to call the shots.
Defence related stocks have hit dizzy heights and a major disappointment is in store – that is my feeling. SO BETTER TO BOOK FULL PROFITS AT CURRENT LEVELS.
Generally budget will not be a game changer for stock market. Some lofty announcements may be made but there will not be follow-up budgetary provisions. GOVERNMENTS HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING THIS PATTERN FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW.
RENEWABLE ENERGY – BOTH WIND AND SOLAR – MAY BE DECLARED AS THRUST AREAS AND SOME UNREALLISTIC TARGETS MAY BE MENTIONED.
JUST KEEP IN MIND FOLLOWING – 6 / 7 CRORE INVESTMENT IS REQUIRED FOR 1 MW OF POWER GENERATION. MAKE YR OWN CALCULATIONS OF INVESTMENT REQD OVER 3 / 5 / 7 YRS TO MEET THE TARGETS.
SO LET US KEEP OUR FINGERS CROSSED AND WAIT FOR THE EVENT TO GET OVER. PERSONALLY, I AM MOVING TO 30 % CASH BEFORE THE BUDGET.
As I always say, we have to play percentages to make money. Bold bravado or blind consensus following does not help. I HAVE JUST GIVEN YOU SOME FOOD FOR YOUR GREY CELLS. WHAT DO YOU SAY ? ? ?

Please remember CAPITAL is always scarce - even for Mr Buffet and needs to be respected.
