MARKETS BUYOED BY MF WINDOW DRESSING AND RBI RATE CUT RUMOURS . . .
Trading levels --- 6th / 10th APRIL 2015
The markets were helped by the buying by Mutual Funds / DIIs for window-dressing considerations and short covering by bear operators due to the rumour in the market that RBI will cut rates in its meeting on 7th April.
Nothing changed in the truncated week and now the focus will be on the RBI meeting on 7th April. If RBI cuts rate, market will go up by about 150 points to test 8750 and if they maintain status quo we will fall below 8500.
Thereafter, we will watch closely the annual results. The result season is not likely to be very positive and that may cast a shadow on the market.
The parliament session re-convenes on 20th April and that may provide some pointers to the market depending on which way the wind blows for land acquisition bill.
There is no evidence of serious FII or DII buying last week. So it is our trio of HNI / operators / brokerages are again at play.
Anxiety about 2016 earnings is getting heightened and that is also instrumental in increased selling pressure from domestic players who have correct sense of things on the ground while FIIs are taking an aerial view.
