MARKET TRUDGES ALONG – RESULT SEASON AWAITED . . .
Trading levels --- 7th / 10th October 2014
Just a 3 day week and it played out as NOTHING week except a small flutter after announcement of RBI policy. I expect a lot of action during the coming week but bias will remain negative till we cross 7850 / 8050 congestion zone decisively on the upside.
World markets have become very volatile with American markets swinging down midweek and then springing back recouping all the losses on Friday. We will watch how the American and European markets trade on Monday as that will be an important cue for us when we open on Tuesday after a 5 day break.
On daily NIFTY charts, I see a double top formation around 8150 with a base around 7900 level. That means we have a strong support and resistance at these levels. Break below 7900 can take NIFTY to 7600 level with a small support around 7830/50 zone.
Result season will start end of next week and the way IT majors have moved up, it looks like that all the positive surprises are in the price. So margin of error is very small. I expect some correction in IT stocks on Wednesday / Thursday which will put pressure on NIFTY.
I have trimmed my IDFC long exposure but I am carrying on RELIANCE. Let us see how it plays out.
